Ingredients
  

  • All-purpose flour: 3 cups
  • Unsalted butter: 1 cup cold, cubed
  • Warm milk: ½ cup
  • Active dry yeast: 2¼ teaspoons
  • Granulated sugar: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Egg: 1 large beaten, for egg wash
  • Optional: Cinnamon sugar or chocolate filling

Instructions
 

  • Activate Yeast : Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5–7 minutes until frothy.
  • Prepare Dough : In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt. Add cold butter and cut it into the flour until crumbly. Gradually add the yeast mixture and knead until smooth.
  • Rest Dough : Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rest for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size .
  • Roll and Layer : Divide the dough into two parts. Roll each into a rectangle, spread softened butter, and fold into thirds. Chill for at least 1 hour.
  • Shape Spirals : Roll out the chilled dough again, cut into strips, and twist into spirals. Place on a baking sheet and proof for 20–30 minutes.
  • Bake : Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush with egg wash and bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown
